About

Lisa Michelle Anderson

Lisa Michelle Anderson’s music is a masterful blend of Americana, folk, and rock, stitched together with the varied experiences of a life lived far beyond her hometown roots in Southeast Kansas.

“One of the catchiest and most beautiful voices we’ve ever heard.”

    (Bored City)

Recognition has followed her at every step. Her new album Get to Somewhere, produced by Johnny Irion (Arlo Guthrie, Jeff Bridges) and mixed by Paul Kolderie (Radiohead, Pixies), debuted on Apple Music’s New in Folk at #3 in Australia and #5 in the U.S. She was voted Best Singer-Songwriter by the Minnesota Music Academy and has opened for many legends including Warren Zevon, Marianne Faithfull, and The Jayhawks.

“Lisa’s new album, Get to Somewhere, is securing her seat at the

Americana table.”

    (Amplify Music Magazine)

Lisa grew up in a home where creativity wasn’t just encouraged—it was a way of life. Her father, a visual artist, handed her his guitar and a lifelong lesson: never color inside the lines. The first song he taught her was “You Are My Sunshine,” and from that moment on, Lisa knew she had found her voice. Her mother, a spirited traveler and gifted storyteller, sparked in her a love for adventure and the magic of a well-told tale. That influence lives on in Lisa’s songwriting and live performances, where stories come alive in melodies shaped by wanderlust, memory, and heart.

Though rooted in small-town life, Lisa's perspective was anything but narrow—shaped by formative years spent living in Australia and Greece, her childhood was a blend of local roots and global discovery.

“…melodies that are simply breathtaking.”

Upon her return to the US, Lisa’s passion for music led her to the heart of the Americana music scene—Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri—where at just 18, she performed alongside some of the best in the business. It was there, amidst the seasoned studio musicians and bluegrass bands, that Lisa’s unique blend of folk, country, and rock began to take shape.

San Diego called next, where she cut her teeth in a rough-and-tumble biker bar, playing with a country band that was as wild as the venue’s patrons. It was a trial by fire that forged her connection with audiences, teaching her that music wasn’t just about notes and lyrics—it was about the stories you tell and the people who listen.

“Lisa’s music is like fresh linen and well-worn denim splashed with whiskey, beer, and hot sauce.”

    (Sam Otis Hill, Singer-Songwriter)

Lisa’s live shows are an experience, whether she performs solo or with her band. Lisa is a folk rock singer-songwriter who turns stories into songs that stick with you long after the last chord rings out. Known for powerful choruses, vivid storytelling, and a voice that feels both intimate and expansive, Lisa creates concerts that are more than performances—they’re shared experiences. Each show invites the audience into a world of connection, where personal narratives become universal truths. Whether on stage in a packed venue or a quiet listening room, Lisa brings people together through songs that resonate and inspire.

In 2025, Lisa is touring across the US, UK, and Australia in support of her new album, Get to Somewhere. She’s also back in the studio with producer Johnny Irion, recording her next full-length album, set for release in Spring

2026.
